As some of you might know, Lekker Project started out as a homeware shop selling solely macrame. The focus has since shifted a bit, but I still love decorating walls & tables around the world! As I get many questions about the design and order process, I've lined up the most important ones to get you ready for your first piece! Warning: once you step into the world of macrame, you feel like replacing every random item in your life with a knotted version of it (disturbing example: I walked behind a man with dreadlocks once and was imagining all the knots I could make with it). Anyway, here are the FAQ(t)s!
What material do you use?
I only use 100% unbleached cotton, sourced from local farmers, to be sure of a high quality end product. There's different types of cotton rope available, in style and thickness, and each one of them works great for different projects.
Can I get macrame at my wedding?
Definitely! I've decorated a lot of weddings worldwide, making table runners (no length limit!), chair covers, bouquet covers, hanging lamps, buntings, and I'm very happy to design and make an impressive background for the ceremony and wedding photos too! It's not only for weddings, macrame can be perfect for any occasion needing some extra decoration, think; dinner parties, baby showers, birthdays, or even a window in a shop!
Do you do custom orders?
There's always a collection up on the shop, that you can request a variation on, and a completely new design is an option too. Let me know what you're thinking and we'll get started on a unique piece for you!
Is it possible to get a different color?
Yep! All designs will be hand dyed by me with plant based dye, to make sure there's no chemicals in your design, or in the process of making it. We like our oceans and air clean!
What are the waiting times?
Depending on the complexity of your order, it takes between 1-4 weeks to get the design ready for shipping. Everything is made to order, and if you'd like an estimation for your specific order, please get in touch!
Do you do workshops?
I love teaching the art of macrame to others! If you're looking to organize a (corporate) event, I'll be happy to discuss options. It's a great way to get the creativity flowing and it's pretty therapeutic at the same! At this moment I am based in The Netherlands and will be able to give workshops in Europe, in English and Dutch.
